A new flagship phone pops up every now and then. And then quickly a flagship killer phone follows. It obviously gets killed too. Unless it kills itself by blasting its batteries off in some cases.
This violence continues until one of these killers land inside your pocket. Then it's quiet for a while. You are at peace.
But this peace can get shattered into pieces fairly quickly in a few months as you flush your flagship down the toilet or send it on a solo road trip or throw it on the road to let it find its inner self.
Smartness is fragile, you see. It breaks very soon. And then you are back in the market looking for a ship to sail again.
I had to change my phone each morning for 3 days in a row last week. And I had no option but to do that. In that hardship, I went from using so called smartest phone to so called streetsmart phone. And then I think, I realised the problem with the flagships!
Specs. That's the problem. Flagship phone specs are so godlike that, you just can't stop expecting things from it. It bothers you so much if the phone refuses to breath on your behalf, doesn't it?
That's the problem. It doesn't keep its spot.
What if there was a phone that met expectations all the time? Even after years?
What if its specs always maintained their spot in the competitive market?
The last spot.
The average spot. Always.
Now that'd be the true flagship phone or flagship killer. Or a new torchbearer of the flags. Or whatever you decide to call it. Something that never disappoints. It always stands at the same spot. No confusion. Only peace.
All we needed was a backbencher and they were producing the frontline over and over again!
Look at the awesome things this phone does for you.
It teaches you not to be greedy. It teaches you not to expect more from it.
It is so selfless that it heats up when you spend more time on it. It actually sweats hard to make you smarter unlike its popular competition.
It slows down at its own will.
It forces you to focus more on what you're doing on it rather than thinking about what you're not doing on it or what next you can be doing on it.
It brings out so much of smartness out of you that you just can't use it to crush the candies. It just refuses to do it many times.
It's calm. It doesn't do anything in rush.
It doesn't need anything virtual or anything augmentated to provide an experience of reality. It just runs out of things you can do on it and makes you lift your head up. And there! There you see the purest form of reality in just right megapixels. The form of reality others around you are deprived of while their heads are drowned in the flagships.
Most importantly it's clear with its purpose in life and it does it quite well - It can make phone calls! Flawlessly. Everytime. Until its last moment.
It's a saintlike phone.
Or it is your flagship phone after years of meditation.
What a bliss!
They are out there. Now you need to work hard on yourselves to be worthy of possessing them.
I hear they released the super pro versions recently. Nokia 3310 is back.
